After years of working together at Fortiz Accountants, Sabrina and Geraldine realised that they are like two peas in a pod. They share similar tastes, philosophies, outlook and opinions. They even discovered that they had built their homes using the exact same bricks years ago!
Not surprisingly, they also discovered that their previous work experience were similar, having risen the ranks to eventually head up accounting departments. Long before the days of cloud accounting, Sabrina and Geraldine had honed their bookkeeping and financial accounting skills working on spreadsheets, T accounts and trial balances manually. Being strong in double entry accounting, journal entries and the like, it made sense to venture into the world of providing the full suite of bookkeeping services. So Fortiz Bookkeeping was born!

Sabrina Ong, CPA
I’ve always shared this belief with Geraldine – plans do not have to be perfect but if you give it your all, you can work things out along the way and everything will come together. I saw this come true with the success of Fortiz Accountants and now I strive to see other businesses succeed too.
Working with books and businesses is a fulfilling experience as I get to use my expertise to see others prosper.
Most of my previous work was focused on hospitality – hotels, restaurants, and the like, where I have had experience in bookkeeping for hospitality businesses, using food & beverage software, and reconciliation of hotel software. I have also worked with hotel business setup, from setting up booking channels and EFTPOS machines to purchasing linen, plates and cutlery.
I now use MYOB, Xero and Quickbooks. Both Geraldine and I are now proudly Xero Certified Advisors. I have a Masters degree in IT, but I prefer to leave IT work to Geraldine.
I love creating networks with my bubbly personality and meeting up with friends. When I’m not working, I would take my children to their Taekwondo club, although I often can’t help but bring my work with me.
Geraldine Lee, FCPA
I have been around numbers, records, data and different types of software all my life, learning basic programming skills at the age of 13. While loose receipts and recording expenses may bother others, they tell me in intricate story.
I get a sense of satisfaction from tidying everything up, putting them into useful reports so that business owners have data and statistics to help them grow their businesses to their highest potential. No two businesses are the same – that’s what makes working with them so rewarding.
My experiences have ranged from manual bookkeeping using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and old software, such as CODA, Peach Tree and AccPac, which are surprisingly still around. I am also well-versed with SAP and Oracle-based platforms from previous employments.
Somehow, I’m the de facto IT person in our business, meaning that I manage the website and other IT matters for Fortiz Accountants & Fortiz Bookkeeping.
Business aside, I love my dogs, rabbits, and cat for their unique personalities, and my first business was a rabbit and guinea pig hotel! And funnily enough, even under Sabrina’s tutelage and many attempts, I cannot bake to save my life.

I have a way of seeing the stories behind the statistics. I can analyse the financial data of an individual or business and ensure successful cash flow. I have had extensive experience with Credit Risk Models at RHB Bank in Malaysia. I later worked in Australia as an Assistant Accountant for tour agency, XploreVic, and then as Head of Finance at Travalet.
I have thorough experience in accounting and I am passionate about seeing the success of any client whom I work with. I love working with data and I have generated business strategies which secured million-dollar investments. I also excel in risk management, reports and auditing. I love communicating with clients to help them better manage their finances.
Bookkeeper & Office Administrator

I am a highly motivated undergraduate working towards a BCom/LLB, majoring in Accounting. I work part-time while balancing my full-time undergraduate studies. I am multilingual, being able to converse in English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese (dialect) and Hokkien (dialect).
I have varied interests and have balanced my undergraduate studies being actively involved in community events such as Spring Fiesta 2018 and Point Cook Lunar New Year Festival in 2018 and 2019. I enjoy dancing and received a Distinction award in the trial of the Royal Academy of Dance in Discovering Repertoire Classical Ballet Syllabus. I was also part of the Deakin Cheerleading and Dance Club between 2016 to 2017.
Fortiz was instrumental in establishing our Charitable Organisation status. Having all the documents filled out & lodged on a pro bono basis by them has helped us so much in that we can really move forward with the rescue & hopefully raise more funds as we can now offer a receipt for tax deductibility purposes.
